Welcome to our session for Learning Outcome No. 3 – Perform Multiple Pass Groove Weld in Different Positions (2G) under Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I.

In this phase of your training, we will move deeper into one of the most critical skills in welding — performing multiple pass groove welds. Here, you will learn to weld in the horizontal (2G) position, applying multiple layers or passes to achieve strong, clean, and quality welds.

This learning outcome will allow you to:

• Understand and apply correct welding parameters and techniques for 2G position.

• Practice root, hot, filler, and cap passes with proper cleaning and inspection between each stage.

• Demonstrate precision, patience, and consistency — all vital traits of a professional welder.
